About the role:
The role consists of building and maintaining Suncorp’s Cloud platforms with a particular focus on Azure, including managing and improving Suncorp’s Hyperscaler platforms, orchestration capability and services.
The team is responsible for managing all aspects of these platforms including security, risk, evaluating/provisioning new services, cost visibility and optimisation. Furthermore, the team maintains a large number of software assets (predominately Python & Django) which enables various functions for internal customers.
This is a fantastic time to be joining Suncorp as we move our data centres into the cloud and work with some of the leading technologies on the market.
What you’ll do:
- Manage, improve, and be accountable for Suncorp’s Hyperscaler platforms, orchestration capability, and services
- Understand customer requirements and work with Suncorp teams and vendors to deliver solutions
- Improve cloud orchestration and services across a multi-cloud environment to enable internal stakeholders to optimise cloud cost and deliver scalable agile solutions
- Use Agile and Lean practices to drive everyday ways of working
- Build the team’s capability though continuous knowledge sharing
- Identify and report security and operational risks
- Engage and understand customers’ needs to reduce hand offs and improve products and services
- Create and maintain relevant documentation including Standard Operating Procedures for all platforms and processes
- Highlight technology incident trends for root cause investigation
What you’ll bring:
- Experience working as a Cloud/DevOps Engineer essential
- Experience in managing a large-scale multi-cloud environment is mandatory
- Experience in software development, CI/CD and supporting methodologies is mandatory
- Orchestration through delivering Infrastructure as a Code
- Building applications for, and deploying to, public cloud infrastructure
- High level of skill and experience in the following hyperscaler platforms & technologies:
- Azure
- Terraform
- AWS (desirable)
- PowerShell
- Git
- Python (desirable)
- Ansible (desirable)
- Jenkins
- HashiCorp Sentinel
- Splunk
- Django (desirable)
