Job Description

The Opportunity

We are looking for a highly skilled Support Software Engineer to join our dynamic team in Brisbane office. In this role, you will be the go-to technical expert for troubleshooting and resolving issues across our complex software ecosystem. Your responsibilities will span from triaging support tickets and queries to conducting technical investigations including:

You will work across multiple domains, including:

  • Work across multiple domains of software development using Java, C++, Python and TypeScript and operating systems such as Linux.

  • Maintain cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines, working with modern networking protocols and APIs (AWS, CDK, GitHub Actions).

  • Use configuration and scripting languages to automate and optimize systems (JSON, XML, Bash, Python).

  • Diagnose issues and implement solutions in updating code, adjusting infrastructure, improving documentation, or refining automation scripts.

  • Work closely with engineers and stakeholders to ensure system reliability and client satisfaction.

About You

To thrive in this role, you will need:

  • Strong programming skills in at least two languages (e.g., Java, C++, Python, TypeScript).

  • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code (AWS CDK), GitHub Actions and DevOps practices.

  • A problem solver who enjoys tackling complex puzzles and digging deep into technical challenges.

  • Excellent communication skills to explain technical concepts clearly and collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.

  • Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively as part of a team in a multi-disciplinary environment.

  • Comfortable with making small but impactful changes across codebases, infrastructure, documentation and automation scripts

Extra things we value:

  • Experience with debugging distributed systems and performance optimization.

  • Knowledge of APIs, networking protocols and secure communication practices.

  • Familiarity with agile workflows and modern software development practices.

  • Domain-specific experience in Geo-data workflows.

Data is uploaded to AWS and distilled to provide clients insights via the use of modern machine learning, scalable cloud computing, and 3D visualisation approaches.
