We’re seeking a Centre Director to lead and inspire a dedicated team of educators delivering high-quality early learning in Kowanyama, a welcoming remote Aboriginal community in Far North Queensland.
As the Director, you’ll oversee daily operations, act as the Nominated Supervisor, Responsible Person, and Educational Leader, and ensure the service provides exceptional education and care. You’ll mentor educators, build strong community connections, and create a nurturing environment where every child can thrive.

What You’ll Bring
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Centre Director or 2IC role
- Strong leadership, mentoring, and communication skills
- Proven success in managing staff performance and service operations
- Knowledge of early childhood frameworks, legislation, and compliance
- Passion for community engagement and supporting Aboriginal children and families
- Diploma (or higher) in Early Childhood Education – ACECQA-approved
- Current QLD Working with Children Check & National Police Clearance
- Current First Aid & CPR (or willingness to obtain)
- Valid driver’s licence
- Eligibility to work in Australia and willingness to relocate to Kowanyama
- 4 weeks’ annual leave + 2 weeks paid leave over Christmas
- Relocation allowance up to $3,000
