Team Leader - Wellbeing
Location: Mount Isa, QLD
Salary: Remuneration from $85,000, with flexibility for the right experience and qualifications.
Employment Type: Full Time (76 hours per fortnight)

NWRH is looking for a Wellbeing Team Leader to guide, inspire, and grow our dynamic Wellbeing Team across remote communities in the Northwest and Lower Gulf of Qld.
What You'll Do:
- Lead a dedicated team of wellbeing clinicians, fostering a supportive, culturally safe, and purpose-driven environment.
- Drive innovative early intervention programs that strengthen mental health, resilience, and community connection.
- Ensure program quality and compliance, manage budgets, and support continuous improvement within the organisation.
- Partner with communities, Elders, and local organisations to deliver meaningful, culturally informed initiatives.
- Build team capability, providing mentorship, guidance, and professional growth opportunities.

- Proven leadership experience in health, community, or social services.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and support a diverse team.
- Ability to travel regularly via small planes / road
- Commitment to culturally safe practice and community engagement.
- Flexibility, initiative, and passion for making a difference in remote communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise staff delivering high-quality mental health and wellbeing services
- Ensure programs meet productivity, quality and reporting requirements
- Oversee documentation compliance and data accuracy
- Manage program budgets, staffing and resources
- Support recruitment, onboarding, training and staff development
- Foster strong relationships with stakeholders and community partners
- Promote culturally safe practice and respect for local protocols
- Contribute to service development and organisational growth initiatives

Essential Criteria
- Tertiary qualification in Mental Health, Social Work, Community Services or similar related disciplines.
- Registration or eligibility for registration with the relevant governing body
- Demonstrated experience in staff supervision and service management
- Strong assessment, intervention and discipline-specific clinical skills
- High-level communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Understanding of Indigenous health issues and culturally safe practice
- Strong documentation, data management and digital literacy skills
- Ability to travel and work flexible hours
- Class C driver’s licence and eligibility to obtain a Blue Card and NDIS Worker Screening Card
- Australian/NZ citizenship, permanent residency or unrestricted work rights
Desirable
- Qualifications in leadership or management
- Experience working in the not-for-profit sector
