Store Manager and Store Assistants

Our client is a not-for-profit government funded body responsible for providing essential goods and services to the Torres Strait, Northern Peninsula Area and mainland Aboriginal remote communities.

Our client is seeking interest from candidates for the following roles:

• Store Managers
• Assistant Store Managers
• Store Supervisors

Positions are available in the following communities:

Lockhart River

• Pormpuraaw
• Doomadgee
• Kowanyama

Your responsibilities dependent on position may include but are not limited to:

Daily operations of the store.

• High level of customer service.
• Handling of customer queries and complaints.
• Inventory management.
• Staff management.
• Financial responsibility.
• Community engagement.

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate the following skills and capabilities:

A demonstrated ability to learn new skills.

• An understanding of how it feels to work in a remote setting.
• An understanding of culturally appropriate conversations and when to become involved in community.
• Excellent communication skills to engage with local community and understand what is needed.

Candidates do not need any prior experience although experience in the hospitality / retail sector would be favourable. A forklift licence would be desirable but not essential as this can be obtained as part of the position.

Couples / families are encouraged to apply to for these full-time positions. Salary is based on the position ranging from $55K - $90K + super with the following attractive benefits:
