About our Opportunity
An excellent opportunity to join Breezway R&D team at our manufacturing facility in Brisbane inner city. This key role supports the development and testing of innovative systems and components. This position involves hands-on collaboration with the design team and working closely with our Industrial Designer to build new and refine existing designs with the goal of enhancing product performance and functionality. With a focus on technical expertise, attention to detail and mechanical aptitude, the role aims to accelerate our R&D efforts and maintain our commitment to excellence.
You will:
- Evaluate design briefs and provide solutions that meets the set requirements.
- Construct and assemble prototypes to validate concepts.
- Conduct tests, experiments and evaluations on new and existing products to demonstrate acceptable performance.
- Record test results, observations and findings, preparing technical reports and documentation.
- Work closely with the R&D team stakeholders to troubleshoot issues, propose solutions and iterate designs.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, efficiency gains and cost reduction.
- Assist with setting the specification for quality checks on parts and assemblies to ensure they meet design specifications and expectations.
About You
We are looking for a Mechanical Engineering Technician with a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Design or a related field. Ideally with a couple of years experience in a workplace, windows knowledge isn't essential however an interest in designing window systems is with an understanding of Australian Standards, how they shape product development and testing requirements. A technical mindset with CAD skills using SolidWorks is essential, along with experience with extrusions, product development and process improvement. The successful person needs to be able to create presentations using Adobe and Microsoft suite.
