About UQ Child, Youth & Family Wellbeing Network (CYFWN):
The UQ Child, Youth, and Family Wellbeing Network (CYFWN, or First 10,000 Days Wellbeing Network) was established in late 2024 under the leadership of Prof. Craig Munns, Director of the Child Health Research Centre (CHRC). The Network focuses on addressing the wellbeing challenges faced by children, youth, and families, particularly in the first 10,000 days, which have lifelong impacts. It emphasizes a collaborative, interdisciplinary approach that integrates health, education, community services, and Indigenous leadership. The Network aims to improve wellbeing through research, education, and strong partnerships, both internally across UQ and with external community stakeholders.

About This Opportunity:
This position which is locally known as ‘Principal Operations Coordinator’ will support the development and implementation of a governance structure and research framework for the CYFWN. You will collaborate with CHRC management and CYFWN members to strengthen connections within UQ and with external stakeholders, ensuring effective knowledge sharing, collaboration, and translation of research into practice. As CHRC is the lead admin organisation for the CYFWN, the role will also involve providing operational support to the CHRC’s broader activities, under the guidance of the Centre Manager and supported by Centre Administration Officer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate Network Development: Build and maintain connections with key stakeholders both within the University and externally, ensuring researchers have access to funding opportunities and that collaborations reduce duplication of effort.

  • Engage Knowledge Users: Foster relationships between researchers and stakeholders such as health professionals, policymakers, and community members, ensuring research is co-designed and directly applicable to their needs.

  • Communication & Dissemination: Act as the primary liaison for engagement activities, including planning events, seminars, and media opportunities, to increase visibility of research and promote engagement.

  • Research Translation: Develop strategies to translate complex research findings into accessible, persuasive narratives that resonate with diverse stakeholders, ensuring impact and application of the research.
