The Work Health and Safety Unit at the Mackay Base Hospital is seeking applications for a Manager to join their team on a permanent basis.

Your opportunity
* The Manager, Work Health and Safety is the Mackay Hospital and Health Service key specialist advisor on all matters that fall within the span of responsibility for the Work Health and Safety Unit (WHS Unit) within the People and Culture Division.
* The accountability spans the core health and safety systems and practice, rehabilitation of employees from work and non-work-related injuries and effective return to work strategies and strategic development.
* The role has overarching responsibility for ensuring that Mackay Hospital and Health Service continuously improves its capability and capacity in health and safety management and practice, and the focus is on achieving optimal performance and outcomes.
About the Team
The Work Health and Safety Unit is within the People and Culture Division supporting work health and safety and wellbeing initiatives. The Work Health and Safety Unit is responsible for enhancing safety culture whilst fostering a strong working partnership and engagement with the broader teams and the managers and employees of the Health Service to meet the obligation of keeping our workers, patients and members of the public safe.
